VASCO: Extending full support to the people of MES College residential area who have been constantly demanding traffic signals at ‘accident-prone’ junction in Zuarinagar along the NH17 B road, South Goa MP Narendra Sawaikar on Monday informed that he intends to utilise his MPLADS funds to fulfil the demand and has asked NHAI officials to prepare a proposal for the same.
Speaking to Herald, Sawaikar said, “Traffic signals at MES College junction are a must since the local residents have been demanding for the same from NHAI authorities due to frequent accidents taking place here. The said junction has become an accident-prone zone due to regular accidents. The access roads to MES College, school, residential area, Zuari Agro Industries, airport and Vasco intersect at this junction; as a result there is vehicular and pedestrian movement.”
