In yet another heart-wrenching road accident, a 23-year-old youth, identified as Videsh Pole from Corjuem-Aldona, lost his life after being run over by a truck near a school in Guirim. The incident occurred around 10 am on Saturday, marking another somber chapter in the series of road accidents in the region.
According to the Mapusa Police, the accident transpired when Pole, riding a two-wheeler, attempted to overtake a truck near a school in Guirim. Unfortunately, he lost balance during the maneuver, fell to the ground, and tragically came under the rear wheel of the truck. The impact of the accident resulted in Pole’s immediate demise at the scene.
Mapusa police swiftly responded to the incident, conducting the necessary panchanama and initiating an accidental case under Section 304-A of the Indian Penal Code against the truck driver, identified as Raghunath Pawar. Pawar, a resident of Tivim but native to Kolhapur, was behind the wheel during the unfortunate incident.
