PANJIM: Francis Richard D’Mello, 52, the younger brother of Nationalist Congress Party Goa unit Vice President Trajano D’Mello, was stabbed in his stomach behind the Church at Parra in Bardez on Tuesday night. He is undergoing treatment at Goa Medical College and Hospital at Bambolim.
“The incident happened around 9.30 pm when he was alone on the scooter. He was stabbed by an unknown person who took his scooter, mobile and cash,” Trajano said.
Trajano said his brother fell unconscious after the attack and walked to a friend’s house in injured condition at around 1:30 am. “First he was shifted to the district hospital in Mapusa from where he was taken to GMC Bambolim. He was operated upon at 4 am,” he said.
