PONDA: Former Chief Minister and Ponda MLA Ravi Naik has called on the government to transfer all government employees to their respective talukas during the COVID pandemic.
Pointing out that such persons are spread across the State, he felt that such a decision will be beneficial for their own safety as the chances of them getting infected by COVID-19 during public transport will be reduced and so also the chances of COVID spreading will come down.
He reasoned that this will reduce the burden on public transport and their vehicle’s fuel consumption. He added that they can be shifted back to their original offices when the COVID crisis is over. He also urged the health department to distribute medicines and tablets that will help the locals increase their immunity in the fight against coronavirus.
