PANJIM: Health Minister Laxmikant Parsekar, reacting to the issue of the transfer of the Goa Dental College dean and the usage of the rotational policy said that all transfers are done by the Personnel department, which is headed by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.
“She was appointed on an adhoc basis. She is not a confirmed dean and as adhoc is a temporary post, it can be changed anytime,” Parsekar said adding, ‘The Personnel department has substituted her, and it is headed by Chief Minister (Manohar Parrikar). It is his prerogative…”
He however ruled out any political interference in the matter.
“What political interference? Adhoc is temporary…I had no problem with her.”
Ida de Noronha e Athaide was the acting dean since December 2011. Normally these appointments are made permanent within two years.
Dr Athaide, is known as a no nonsense professional, who went by the book when tenders and purchase orders of equipment had to be issued. It is learnt that a coterie of equipment suppliers are believed to be behind her ouster.
