MAPUSA: An electricity transformer was gutted in fire at Dattawadi, Mapusa, on Sunday.
The Mapusa Fire Station officials stated that they received a call at around 10.32 am stating that a transformer at Kamat Garden, Housing Colony, near Xavier’s College at Mapusa had caught fire.
A team of fire-fighters then rushed to the spot and doused the flames after battling them for around an hour. A loss of Rs 40,000 was estimated while properties worth around Rs two lakh were saved.
Fire fighters Dnyaneshwar Sawant, Sub Officer, Prasad Sawant, Driver Operator, Sanjeev Korgaonkar and Sanil Banaulikar brought the flames under control.
