SANGUEM: A transformer in the middle of the three road junction at Uguem has become a major hurdle for motorists using the road. However, despite the transformer being an imminent danger to the motorists, the authorities have failed to shift the same to a safer place.
Incidentally, though the transformer was earlier erected by the side of the main road, it now stands in the middle of the road on account of the road widening work undertaken by PWD about a year ago.
Panchayat sources informed that though several requests have been made to both the PWD and the Electricity Department, the authorities have failed to shift the transformer to the side of the road.
The transformer stands in the middle of the road proceeding to Uguem and Bhati village. The situation is made all the more precarious given the fact that the transformer is a couple of metres away from a sharp curve which highly impairs the visibility of vehicles coming from Bhati and other villages.
The motorists have appealed to the authorities to shift the transformer on immediately to ensure the safety of the road users and before any eventuality takes place.
