MARGAO: The Patto fields in Chinchinim village were brought under cultivation through mechanism through the efforts of the Chinchinim Agricultural Club (CAC) led by Agnelo Furtado and Don Bosco Agricultural Unit led by Fr George Quadros.
At the fields located near the St Sebastian Chapel, 10 machines including six transplanters and four tractors were used for paddy transplanting wherein an area of around 1.7 lakh square metres was covered recently.
It may be recalled that in the recent past, CAC along with the Don Bosco Agricultural unit had successfully converted fallow land into now flourishing paddy fields on Diguam bundh, Chinchinim. “We are now venturing to regain our old traditions. With the help of Fr George Quadros and his dedicated team of workers are equipped with the latest farm machinery,” said Furtado.
