MAPUSA: Due to incessant rains over the last three days a huge jungle tree and coconut tree fell on a house near the chapel at Wadi, Siolim on Tuesday. The house was partially damaged in this incident and the loss is pegged at approximately Rs 90,000.
The Mapusa fire station was informed about this incident in the afternoon at 2.45, after which they rushed to the spot. The owner of the house is Pradeep Morajkar.
During the day, there were two more emergency calls that were attended to by the personnel from the Mapusa fire station. In the morning, a branch of a mango tree fell on the road and electrical line near Corjuem Bridge at Aldona.
In the evening, a tree collapsed on the road and electrical wire near the Primary School at Khorlim, Mapusa.
Before the team from the Fire Department reached the spot, the electricity department officials cleared the tree.
