CALANGUTE: A huge mango tree collapsed near St Anne’s Chapel at Saligao on Wednesday late night, damaging three shops, a two-wheeler and a car. No one was injured.
Pilerne Fire Station officials said they received a call about the incident at 11 pm on Wednesday, following which they rushed to the spot on the Chogm Road. A Maruti car, Activa scooter and three shops in the property belonging to Shrikant Deuskar were damaged, they said.
Fire fighters cleared some of the big branches of the fallen tree in a two-hour operation. The loss is yet to be estimated.
