Panjim: Tribal Association of Goa on Saturday staged a protest at Azad Maidan against the horrific Manipur incident. The protestors attacked BJP Government and Prime Minister Modi for keeping quiet and questioned silence on the Violence. The protestors have condemned the incident and have sought justice for the victims and the entire Manipur tribal community.
Protester Pratimha Coutinho said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has failed big time and his silence over this incident signifies nothing but paucity of concern towards this community. Coutinho further lambasted Smriti Irani for buttoning up her lips, despite being Minister of Women and Child Development.
ST leader and social activist Rama Kankonkar lashed out at Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah terming their rule as RavanRajya. Kankonkar also attacked President Droupadi Murmu for her silence over the incident, regardless of belonging to the ST community. Moreover, he took a dig at Goa Chief Minister Sawant for passing a resolution condemning BBC’s documentary against PM Modi and omitting discussion on the Manipur violence.
