Protest in Panjim against the parading of two women naked in the strife-stricken State; term the role of PM Modi & Union Home Minister Amit Shah as ‘Ravan Raj’; slams President Droupadi Murmu for her silence over the incident despite belonging to the tribal community

PANJIM: Demanding justice for the victims and the entire tribal community in Manipur, the Tribal Association of Goa on Saturday staged a protest at Azad Maidan, Panjim against the horrific incident wherein two women were paraded naked and one of them sexually assaulted in strife-stricken State.

The protestors criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for remaining quiet for more than two months.

They sought explanation to the nation. They demanded justice for the victims and the entire tribal community in Manipur.

Addressing the protestors, Adv Pratima Coutinho said that the Prime Minister had failed big time and his silence over the incident signifies nothing but lack of concern towards the hapless tribal community.

She lambasted the Union Minister for Women and Child Welfare Smriti Irani for buttoning up her lips despite being a minister in the government.

Scheduled Tribes leader and social activist Rama Kankonkar lashed out at the Prime Minister Modi and the Union Home Minister Amit Shah terming their role as ‘Ravan Raj’. He also attacked the President of India Droupadi Murmu for her silence over the incident, despite belonging to the tribal community.

He further took a dig at the State government for passing a resolution condemning the BBC documentary against PM Modi and failing to discuss the ongoing violence in Manipur.
