MARGAO, FEB 1
A day after his suspension from the BJP, Party cultural cell convenor, Sidhanath Buyao on Tuesday lamented that truth had become unpalatable for the party with a difference especially its Fatorda MLA Damu Naik.
Briefing newsmen, Buyao squarely blamed the Fatorda MLA behind the decision by Party leaders to suspend him from the organization. Pointing out that action was taken on him at the instance of the Fatorda MLA with whom he has been at loggerheads on the social networking site face book, Buyao said it appeared that an honest assessment of the Fatorda’s MLA’s in action in tackling several issues in Fatorda, more particularly the vexed garbage problem had earned him the party’s wrath.
“The Fatorda MLA had made a public appeal on the face book soliciting advise on issues that the MLA take concrete steps to remedy the worsening situation at Sonsodo as also investigate how a one time payment of more than Rs seven crore was being given to a company without any experience in solid waste management”, he said.
“It appeared that the Fatorda MLA’s sins of omission and commission were falling out of the cupboard following his expose on Face book. Wary of this damage, the MLA exerted pressure on the party leadership thinking that by silencing voices of dissent, the Fatorda MLA’s misdeeds could be pushed under the carpet”, Buyao added.
Reiterating his resolve to expose the Fatorda MLA’s corruption and collusion in illegal deals in the constituency, Buyao said that he was no relieved that he could continue his crusade against corruption without bondage from the party.
Replying to a question, Buyao said the Fatorda MLA was not happy with a Catholic heading the party Curtorim block committee and had sabotage plans to field his candidate in the Margao Municipal polls.

“With my suspension, my association with the BJP is over now. I have not yet decided about my political future,” he added.
