PERNEM: The Tuem gram sabha on Sunday opposed erecting two mobile towers in the village.
After the meeting commenced, as a first agenda, the sarpanch read out applications he received seeking NOC for installing two mobile towers. Opposing the mobile towers in the village, the members immediately passed a resolution against issuing NOC for any mobile tower in village.
Justifying the resolution, the villagers said that the two towers are proposed to be installed in residential area where there is a health center and a school, which would adversely affect the health of the people.
The other issues raised were water shortage and cleaning of the gutters before rains.
The villagers complained that water that is being supplied through tankers is being misused. However, the Sarpanch informed that supply of water through tankers is temporary solution.
Sarpanch further informed that as a permanent solution, the work of laying new pipeline is underway and by next week the work would be completed. “Thereafter, people will get proper water supply,” he said.
The locals suggested that the water which is being supplied through tankers to the households should be limited to prevent misuse.
People further demanded that all the gutters should be cleaned before rains.
