MARGAO: Cuncolim police have booked one tuition teacher for allegedly raping a girl from a Salcete village.
Police based on the complaint lodged at Cuncolim Police Station have registered an offence against tuition teacher under Section 354 (A) 506 (ii) 376 (2)376 (3)354 (D), 500 IPC Section 8 (2) of Goa Children Act, Section 6, 12 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012, Section 3 w (p)(11)3(2)(v) of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Prevention of Atrocities Act 1989.
According to the complainant, the alleged accused tuition teacher exploited the victim girl sexually since 2010, while the victim girl was 15 years of age, by repeatedly outraging her modesty and threatened to spoil name and kill her father if she disclosed the same to anyone.
Police said the victim girl got pregnant twice for which she had to undergo abortion and even attempted to commit suicide many times.
“The alleged accused has been regularly following the victim girl wherever she went due to which she was forced to give up studies while studying at Goa University,” stated the complainant.
Police said that the victim girl belongs to the Scheduled Tribe whereas the accused belongs to general caste and has been causing atrocities to the victim in above manner since 2010. The alleged accused has started spoiling her name and not allowing her to settle in her life. Further investigation is in progress.
