Turtle lays 97 eggs at Rajbagh beach

CANACONA: The Canacona Wildlife and Forest Range, protecting the reserved nesting site of Galgibagha and surrounding beaches, has recorded this season’s maiden collection of Olive Ridley eggs on the Rajbagh seashore.
The forest officials were intimated of a marine Chelonian nesting on the Talpona side of the Rajbagh beach at about 12 noon.
The forest officials immediately recovered all the eggs numbering 97 and shifted them to a safe enclosure at Galgibagha beach, sources said.
“This is the first collection of eggs at Rajbagh beach during this delayed season,” a local said.
