MARGAO: The Margao police records have revealed that out of five member gang who allegedly committed the murder of a 22-year-old youth from Azad Nagar, two accused Asif Nagarehi, and Mohammad Hussain are history sheeters .
Police investigation has also revealed that the others were also involved in petty cases .
In another development on Friday, the Margao police team headed by PI Filomena Costa also recovered the metal weapon used by the alleged accused to commit the heinous crime.
Five accused Vinod Jalgar, Suresh Jalgarage, Akshay Bhove, Asif Nagarehi, and Mohammad Hussain, were arrested who were arrested were produced before the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Margao and remanded to 7 days in police custody.
They were then taken to the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) Bambolim for medical examination.
According to the sources, a group of youth in the locality instigated a fight while the birthday celebration of the deceased was on. The deceased Mukhtar Badni was assaulted by with blows and some weapons. Allabaksh Pathan who came to rescue of the deceased was also injured .
Mukhtar was hit on the head during the fight, leading to serious injuries and fell unconscious. However he was shifted to South Goa District Hospital at Margao however doctor on duty declared him dead .
Following the murder, three motorbikes allegedly belonging to the gang were put on fire allegedly by the rival group. People in the locality alleged that the gangs have been creating nuisance and spreading terror in the locality for quite some time now.
