BICHOLIM: Bicholim Police arrested two persons, including a resident of Vasco, in connection with a theft of gold ornaments worth Rs 2.30 lakh from Mulgao.
According to Bicholim PI Mahesh Gadekar, some unknown persons on September 25, effected entry into the house of one Risha Pednekar from Bagwada Mulgao and decamped with gold ornaments worth Rs 2.30 lakh. The items included three gold bangles, a necklace, two earrings, three bracelets, two nose pins, two watches, one locket and a tie pin. Acting on the complaint, the police went through the CCTV footage of forest checkpost at Assonora and noticed that there were two persons moving suspiciously at night on a motorcycle.
On further investigation it was revealed that the bike belonged to one Ismail D Shaikh from Mangor Hill, Vasco. On interrogation, he admitted to having committed the theft along with one Parshuram Olenkar from Karnataka.
Based on the phone location it was revealed that Parshuram had already left for Karnataka.
PSI, Deepesh Shetkar along with team later went to Karnataka and arrested him.
Police is investigating the case.
