PANJIM: Two more Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs and one from regional Goa Forward Party (GFP) resigned from their parties.
PWD Minister Deepal Pauskar, Deputy Speaker Isidore Fernandes and Siolim MLA Vinod Paliencar quit as MLAs.

The first was Canacona MLA Deputy Speaker Isidore Fernandes, who emailed his resignation from the primary membership of the party to the BJP State leaders. Isidore also held a meeting with his large number of his supporters, following which he announced that he will contest as an independent candidate.
Similarly, PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar resigned as the BJP’s Sanvordem MLA on Friday. He submitted his resignation to the Goa Assembly Secretary (Legislature) Narmata Ulamn in person. He also met his supporters and said he will be contesting as an independent for the Assembly elections and that if doesn’t, his brother Sandeep would.
Pauskar accused the BJP of not allowing him to work freely as a Minister as well.
Both these MLAs accused the BJP of betraying them and back tracking on promises to have a stable government in the State, when they had joined BJP in 2019.
Siolim Goa Forward Paty MLA Vinod Paliencar submitted his resignation letter to Goa Assembly Secretary (Legislature) Namrata Ulman.
Paliencar later said that he will contest the upcoming Assembly elections from his home Siolim constituency as an independent candidate although some political parties have approached him. “I may join other political party only if my ideologies match with them,” he said.
