PANJIM: In line with the preparations for the upcoming 2022 assembly elections, a two-member team of BJP State Yuva Morcha will attend the national executive meeting led by BJP National President J P Nadda in Delhi on Tuesday.
The State unit of the party said that the two-day long meeting is expected to take important decisions at the backdrop of the 2022 polls in five states. BJPYM State President Samir Mandrekar and General Secretary Akhil Parrikar will be a part of the meet along with leaders from other States. Meeting will also be attended by Yuva Morcha national president Tejaswi Surya.
The agenda of the BJYM’s national executive meeting is to discuss roles and strategies for the upcoming State elections in several States due next year. This is also to delegate responsibility for election campaigns and other events lined up. They would further discuss the role of today’s youth in nation-building. The future road-map on various issues will be thoroughly discussed and delivered in this meeting, statement issued by the party in Delhi said.
In another move ahead of the elections, the BJP Goa Unit has decided to bring together youth of Goa through a unique cultural-cum-sport event titled ‘Chief Minister Trophy.’
“We have lagged behind owing to the fear of COVID-19. Indeed it was pivotal to ensure safety of oneself and everybody to prevent the spread of the virus. All should continue to take precautions. Now since things are gradually coming back to track and economic activities are restarting, this cultural-cum-sporting event will encourage active participation of our youth,” BJP General Secretary Damu Naik said while addressing a press conference in the party head office in Panjim on Monday.
Registration for the event – both offline and online – will commence on Tuesday. “One can log in to www.22in22.in or visit kiosks set up by the BJP Yuva Morcha at each constituency to register their names. A logo of the event was also unveiled. The event will culminate on December 13, which marks the birth anniversary of ex-Chief Minister late Manohar Parrikar.
