MARGAO: Margao police booked two persons for cruel and un-authorized cow and buffalo slaughter. The accused are identified as Mehboob Allabagash Bepari, 48, a resident of Moti Dongor, and Jaffar Kasim Bepari, 27, a resident of Benaulim.
Police said that the accused slaughtered a buffalo and a cow in a cruel manner and without permission from the competent authority, in Shirvodem, Navelim.
The duo has been booked under Section 429 read with 34 of IPC; Sections 4, 5 and 8 of Goa Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act; Sections 3 and 8 of Goa Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act; and Section 11(1) (L) of Prevention of Cruelty to Animal Act.
