VASCO: Head constable Milind Raiker and constable Mithun Naik attached to the Dabolim police station were placed under suspension by the South Goa SP for negligence of duty for letting an accused Kashmir Singh, escape from their custody. The cops also issued a look out notice for Singh who fled from the airport.
Police stated that the 34-year-old a accused wanted by the Punjab police, who was attempting to board a Sharjah-bound flight from Dabolim international airport on Saturday morning escaped after the immigration authorities identified him as wanted criminal and intimated the Dabolim Airport police.
The accused is wanted in property theft case by the Punjab police. A lookout notice was issued by the Punjab police against him and all airports in the country were intimated accordingly.
Singh arrived in Goa by a train and was trying to board a flight to Sharjah at the Dabolim airport. But the immigration authorities identified him and intimated the Dabolim Airport police station.
Before the police could arrive to arrest him, the accused escaped from the scene. It is learnt that the accused sensed trouble and told the authorities he wanted to answer nature’s call and fled.
The Dabolim Airport police have now issued a lookout notice and registered a case against Singh.
