VALPOI: Two cows were killed after they were hit by a speeding vehicle at Morlem, Sattari. A little calf that was severely injured had to be shifted to the Gonsanvardhan Kendra, Valpoi for treatment.
The incident took place in the wee hours of Thursday when the vehicle knocked down the bovines that were squatting on the road.
Gosanvardhan Kendra’s head Hanumant Parab rushed to the site upon being informed and shifted the wounded calf to the animal shelter at Valpoi.
Locals buried the dead cattle and demanded action against the driver who drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner.
They also claimed that speeding vehicles on the Goa-Belgaum highway posed danger to residents here.
