PONDA: Ponda Police on late Wednesday night arrested two government servants, Sachin Pokhle working at Apna Ghar in Merces and resident of Dhavali in Ponda and one Pankaj Fadte employed at Secretariat in Porvorim and a resident of Morjim for demanding money from a youth from Ponda by promising him a job in Goa Police Dept.
A complaint has been filed by the sister of the victim youth who had applied for the post of PSI in the ongoing recruitment.
The accused with their common intention demanded money amounting to Rs 20 lakh from the youth in order to finalise his name in the selected list of candidates. Both the accused persons have been placed under arrest. The case is being investigated.
