PONDA: Ponda Police on Wednesday arrested one Gaurish Kerkar from Dharbandora and Nizzamuddin Sheikh from Dattagad in Ponda in connection with six chain snatching cases that were reported at Dharbandora, Marcel and Ponda since Feb this year.
Gaurish is the main accused, while Nizzamuddin is his accomplice. The two accused used to snatch the chains of women walking along road. The duo had even assaulted the women while committing the crime of chain snatching.
Gaurish is also learnt to be involved in various crimes in other States. Hubli Police had also arrested him for theft cases.
