MAPUSA: Calangute Police arrested one Drissa Cisse(36), a Republic of Ivory Coast national for illegally possessing cocaine.
According to police, the alleged accused person was found possessing narcotic substance suspected to be Cocaine weighing 5.6 grams worth Rs 56, 000 in his Activa scooter bearing registration number GA-03 AJ 5439 in a raid conducted in the wee hours of Wednesday morning.
The accused person is booked under NDPS Act. LPSI Deepa Deikar is further investigating.
Meanwhile, in another raid, Calangute police arrested a resident of Gaurawado for illegally possessing ganja near Sinquerim Jetty on Tuesday. A team of police apprehended the alleged accused person possessing narcotic suspected to be ganja worth Rs 52,500 while patrolling near Sinquerim Jetty.
The police have booked the accused person under NDPS Act. Further investigation is in progress.
