CURCHOREM: In a shocking incident, two men were arrested by Quepem police on Friday on charges of gang-raping and blackmailing a woman.
According to reports, the two accused, Pramod Velip and Sanjay Devidas of Morpilla-Quepem were arrested after their anticipatory bail was rejected by the court and they surrendered before the police.
Police said the two accused had taken the woman to Selaulim in Sanguem, where they had allegedly gang-raped the woman. They then recorded clips of the woman and would blackmail her for more sex.
The woman mustered the courage to file a police complaint against the accused. Fearing arrest, the accused applied for anticipatory bail, but the court rejected their plea and they surrendered to the police on Friday.
