PANJIM: Two Indian Police Service (IPS) Officers posted in Goa have been promoted to senior grade by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Deputy Inspector General of Police, Head Quarters (2003 AGMUT batch) Rajesh Kumar has been promoted to the rank of Inspector General of Police while Pankaj Kumar Singh, currently holding the charge of South Goa (2008 AGMUT batch) is elevated to the Selection Grade.
The Goa Police Department held a ceremony at headquarters on Friday, where Director General of Police Mukesh Kumar Meena pinned the stars on the shoulders of both the officers.
The DGP later took to Twitter to congratulate the officers.
“My heartiest congratulations to Rajesh Kumar and Pankaj Kumar Singh on their well deserved promotions as IGP and SSP respectively. They have put in their sweat and soul in their service to the people all these years and I am certain they will continue to do so,” he posted.
