PANJIM: Two Jharkhand natives have been chargesheeted by Panjim police for allegedly murdering a Nepali daily wage worker Dev Bahadur Ghartimagar, whose decomposed body was found at Dona Paula in November 2013.
The 116-page chargesheet has charged Asian Ninda and Rohit Ekka with murder and destruction of evidence under sections 302 and 201 of the Indian Penal Code.
Officials said the chargesheet will be filed before the district and sessions court.
The third person Bilamrao Lauthi Moro, a native of Assam, who was also arrested in the case and later was released on bail, has not been named in the chargesheet after police found he was not involved in the crime.
A total of 43 witnesses have been examined.
The incident came to light when some passersby noticed a brutally bruised body dumped in the bushes near La Marvel Colony.
The body with hands and legs tied was covered with leaves and branches.
The deceased was later identified as 28-year-old Ghartimagar.
The two accused and Bilamrao, were known to the accused as they reportedly stayed together in a rented room at Dona Paula. According to the police, they had a brawl over a petty issue in an inebriated condition.
The two accused later planned his murder to take revenge on him.
Police said all of them worked at a fish stall in Betim.
