Two Kenya nationals held for overstaying

MAPUSA: The Anjuna police have taken into custody two foreign women, identified as Lucy Mumbai Irara (39) and Mary Nafula Wanjala (27), both Kenyan nationals, on Thursday, on charges of overstaying after their visa duration expired.

According to statements from SDPO Mapusa, Jivba Dalvi, the individuals in question had been residing in Vagator, but they did not have valid passports and visas.

Following these revelations, Anjuna Police lodged an FIR under Sections 7(1)(3)(iii) of the Foreigners Order 1948, along with Sections 3(2)(a) and 6(a) of the Passport Entry into India rules 1950, as well as Section 3 read with 4 of the Passport Entry Act 1920. These violations are punishable under Section 14 of the Foreigners Act 1946.

The investigation into the matter is being conducted by PSI Dhiraj Devidas, who is tasked with delving into the circumstances that led to the individuals’ unlawful overstay and the lapses in their documentation.
