PONDA: Ponda police on Wednesday arrested Anil Patil (25) and Tukaram Patil (30) both from Khanapur in Karantak on the charges of kidnapping a 16-year-old minor girl from the same town.
The girl was kidnapped on Tuesday late evening. According to the police, the two accused forcibly pulled the girl into a Scorpio jeep and brought her to Goa.
The father of the minor girl followed them to Goa and lodged a complaint at Ponda police station. As the police began investigation into the case, the accused dropped the girl near Tapobumi in Kundai at Industrial Estate road, and later they returned towards Ponda with a hope fleeing to Belgaum with their Scorpio vehicle. However, they were intercepted at Mardol road and arrested by the Ponda police.
The police have sent the minor girl for medical test.
