Two killed, five injured in accidents at Assonora, Pernem

BICHOLIM/ PERNEM: Two persons were killed and five others were injured in two separate accidents, on Friday.

In the first case, a 53-year-old person from Kasarvarne in Pernem died on the spot after he was crushed under a truck near forest check post at Assonora, on Friday. 
According to Bicholim police, Gurudas Rama Shetkar was travelling towards Bicholim on his motorcycle. When he reached near the forest check post at Assanora, the driver of the truck which was coming from Dodamarg towards Karaswada suddenly lost control over the vehicle and run over the victim, before turning turtle. 
The impact was such that Shetkar died on the spot. Truck also hit another motorcycle damaging the same. The truck was carrying crushed powder. 
Police said that the truck driver lost the control as he busy in placing his gear box which became loose. Police have arrested truck driver Mithilesh Chandrik Shah, a native of Bihar. 
Body of the victim has been sent to GMC and hospital for post mortem. Shetkar was a government servant. PSI Gaurish Parab is investigating into the matter under the guidance of PI Narayan Chimulkar.
In the second accident that occurred in Pernem, one died and five injured when a Tata Safari collided against a stationary truck.
After a breakdown, the truck was parked at Naibagh slope, when the Tata Safari collided against the vehicle at around 2 am. 
The injured have been taken to hospital. Pernem police conducted a panchanama and handed over the body of the dead to his cousin brother. Police registered crime under section 304 IPC.
