VASCO: Two persons were killed while six others were injured in an accident involving six vehicles (as per Verna police) at Verna slope, opposite Cabral petrol pump on Thursday night.
According to the information from Verna police, the incident was reported around 8 pm after the driver of a trailor carrying container bearing registration number MH-04-DS-0634 lost control over the vehicle and dashed against a soft dink loaded Tata 709 Tempo bearing registration number GA-02 T-9445 and four other vehicles (as per Verna police). The impact of the accident was such that another four vehicles including two wheelers and two four wheelers also were damaged leaving two dead and six others injured.
Traffic on the National Highway 17 A and that too at the busy evening came to standstill for more than one hours however the same was cleared by the police.
According to GMC officials, two persons, both residents of Majorda, were brought dead at the casualty while five others including two residents of New Valdem and other four were brought with serious ‘blunt chest trauma’ and multiple injuries on their body.”
