PANJIM: The Panjim Police arrested a two-member gang who cheated people by delivering glass plates on pretext of selling low range mobile phones.
Bittu Varma, aged 27 years and Sarfaraz Qureshi, aged 23 years; both hailing from Uttar Pradesh have been arrested for the offence, reads a press statement.
“The glass plates with black colour pouch, scooter, cash and a mobile phone are recovered from their possession. The gang was cheating people on pretext of selling mobiles at a cheaper price and in return, would deliver glass plates in a black coloured-pouch resembling mobile phone,” states the release.
The accused booked for theft and cheating are remanded to police custody for interrogation.
