VASCO: Two men posing as ‘policemen’ robbed a woman from Mai-Mollem, Vasco, of her gold ornaments worth Rs 2 lakh in the heart of Vasco on Friday.
According to Vasco Police, Nalini Govekar complained that while she was walking along the Swantantra Path road near Damodar Temple, two men posing as ‘policemen’ approached her and advised her not to wear gold ornaments as there is a fear that someone might snatch it from her.
Govekar further stated that she accordingly removed two gold bangles and a chain and deposited it in a bag provided by the two men. However, after going a little ahead when Govekar opened the bag, she was shocked to find the gold ornaments missing.
Police further informed that they have registered an offence against unknown persons under Sections 170, 419, 420 read with 34 of IPC and ASI Gautam Solanki is investigating.
