MAPUSA: Calangute MLA Michael Lobo and Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) Chairman Dayanand Sopte inspected the seven houses close to the Baga beach on Wednesday.
The house owners were trying to regularise their structures and forced to move from pillar to post.
The Calangute MLA said that the case was going on for a while and they were struggling to convert their land into settlement.
“These houses belong to the traditional fisherman. They have unnecessarily been made to spend money. They had acquired the land in 1976 and have been present there for over 200 years,” said Lobo addressing the media.
Sopte said: “They are quite old houses and are there since 1976. We want to solve this issue within a short period.”
