PONDA: A bike rider was crushed under a truck while a woman succumbed to burn injuries while she accidentally caught fire at her residence.
Ashok Naik, 47, a resident of Bagwado Khandepar was killed in a fatal accident reported at Amigos junction in Curti between a truck and bike on Friday.
The deceased was proceeding from Khandepar towards Ponda when he was knocked down by a truck killing him on the spot. The truck driver has been placed under arrest by the police.
Meanwhile Sugandha Gaude, 54, resident of Vangar Keri Ponda succumbed to burn injuries at the Goa Medical College yesterday.
In his statement to the police, Gaude stated that she caught fire accidentally while cooking at her residence.
Besides, two other unnatural deaths were reported at the Ponda Police Station on Friday.
One Girish Shantappa, 20, a native of Belgavi Karnataka, was brought dead to the Ponda Health Centre while another male body, aged around 55 was found at the Upper Ponda Bazaar. Ponda police are investigating into the matter.
