Buses owner Anthony Rodrigues said the incident occurred at around midnight when a lone miscreant stoned his bus, damaging the windscreen. An adjoining bus was also stoned by the miscreant, before he tried to make good his escape under the cover of darkness.
“When we were intimated about the incident, we rushed to Margao and conducted a search of the area around and behind the bus stand before we could trace and apprehend the miscreant. We suspect that the miscreant was hired by our rivals to cause damage to the buses,” Anthony said.
The accused was later handed over to the police.
The total loss caused to the two buses is pegged at around Rs 1lakh.
