Two Mumbai natives held with drugs

PERNEM:  Pernem Police on Monday arrested two Mumbai natives for allegedly possessing narcotic substance suspected to be ganja worth Rs 69,000.

According to the police, they had received information that two persons are involved in drug activities and are roaming around on an Activa scooter in the Arambol jurisdiction.

The police formed a team and the two suspected persons were intercepted at Arambol Beach parking lot and upon searching found narcotic substance suspected to be ganja worth Rs 69,000 which was kept hidden in scooter dickey.

The accused persons are identified as Pradeep Ramesh Valecha (27) native of Kalyan, and Salim Quyyum Khan (21) native of Ulhasnagar, Mumbai. The police have also seized Activa scooter.

The raiding team was headed by Police Inspector Jivba Dalvi comprising of Police Sub-Inspector Praful Giri and Constables Vinod Pednekar, Shailesh Parsekar and Ravi Mhaloji. Further investigation is on.
