MAPUSA: Calangute police arrested two Nigerians, Mikel Okoro (32), presently residing at Anjuna and Adeleke Khalid (38), presently residing at Candolim, for illegally possessing suspected ganja during a narcotic raid.
According to sources, PI Jivba Dalvi received information that the two accused would be coming to Arish Shack at Candolim beach with drugs for sale.
Accordingly a team was formed under PI Dalvi and a raid was conducted during which the accused were found in possession of ganja worth Rs 15,000.
During further investigation it was revealed that both the accused did not possess passport and travel documents.
Both were booked under Section 20(b)(ii)(A) of NDPS Act and under Section 3(2)(a) and Section 6 of Passport Entry Rules Act, Sec 3 and 4 of Passport Entry Act, Sec 7 of Foreigners Order Act r/w Sec 14 of Foreigners Act 1946.
Both the accused were produced before a Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) at Mapusa who remanded them in judicial custody for 14 days.
