Two of India’s Top Gangsters Arrested in Georgia, US, Set for Deportation

Indian security agencies arrested top gangsters Venkatesh Garg in Georgia and Bhanu Rana in the US, both linked to major criminal networks. They are scheduled for deportation to India soon.

Indian security agencies have scored a major success with the arrest of two of the country’s most wanted gangsters, who had been operating overseas. Venkatesh Garg was apprehended in Georgia, while Bhanu Rana, linked to the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang, was arrested in the United States. Both are scheduled to be deported to India soon.

Currently, over two dozen major Indian gangsters remain abroad, recruiting operatives and running criminal syndicates.

Venkatesh Garg Involved in BSP Leader’s Murder

Garg, a resident of Narayangarh, Haryana, has over 10 criminal cases registered against him in India. He fled to Georgia after allegedly being involved in the murder of a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader in Gurugram.

Garg had been recruiting youth from Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, and other northern states to expand his criminal network. He also ran an extortion syndicate with Kapil Sangwan, another gangster currently overseas. In October, Delhi Police arrested four shooters linked to Sangwan for a shooting at a builder’s house and farmhouse.

Bhanu Rana, originally from Karnal, has been active in crime for years. His network spans Haryana, Punjab, and Delhi. Rana’s name came up during the investigation of a grenade attack in Punjab.

In June, the Special Task Force (STF), Karnal, arrested two men in possession of hand grenades, pistols, and ammunition, who were reportedly acting under Rana’s instructions.

The arrests of Garg and Rana provide crucial insights into the modus operandi of Indian gangsters operating abroad, marking a significant achievement for Indian security agencies.
