Two Revolutionary Goans held; members confront Pernem police

PERNEM: Two-hundred members of Revolutionary Goans gheraod the Pernem police after two of their members were arrested following a complaint by Deputy Chief Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar against the duo.

The arrested are identified as Sarvesh Karapurkar and Ritesh Kandolkar, both residents of Dhargal; they arrested under Sections 147, 145, 341, 325, 188, 506(2) r/w 149 of IPC.

According to sources, a public meeting was organised as a part of election campaign at Dhargal Panchayat hall by the BJP. However, after the meeting, when Ajgaonkar was leaving the hall, the duo arrested questioned Ajgaonkar why he organised the public meeting even though the chief minister declared that no public meetings should be held. 

The questioning reportedly turned into heated arguments; and situation turned chaotic. Followed which, supporters of Ajgaonkar filed a written complaint against the two at the police station.

Meanwhile, the Revolutionary Goans have filed counter complaint against Ajgaonkar and demanded his immediate arrest.
