Two shacks were completely gutted in a fire at Calangute beach on early Tuesday morning. Almost everything was completely destroyed. The total loss incurred by both shack owners is estimated to be around Rs 70 lakh. A short circuit is reported to be the reason for the fire, which led to a cylinder blast leading to the second shack catching fire. Refrigerators, mixers, kitchen items, chairs, tables and almost everything in the shacks were burnt. Fire tenders managed to save the nearby shacks.
