VASCO: Vasco police arrested two tenants at New Vaddem for assaulting their landlords with choppers over the issue of vacating the rented house. Both accused has been remanded in police custody for three days.
Vasco PI Nilesh Rane said that Jesus Anthony Fernandes, age 20, complained that the accused Rajesh Warkhandkar and Sanjay Warkhandkar tried to attack him but he escaped the attack. However, when his two uncles namely Gabby D’Mello and Paulo D’Mello intervened and tried to stop the fight, both the accused persons charged at the D’Mello brothers and assaulted them with choppers causing them deep cuts on heads and near ears.
The accused are natives of Maharashtra.
PI Rane said that the weapon used in the crime has been attached. Both the injured are undergoing treatment at GMC Bambolim. The statements of the injured victims have been recorded.
