CUNCOLIM: Two unnatural death cases were registered at Cuncolim and Quepem Police Stations on Sunday.
In the first case, the police received a call from Balli Primary Health Centre, informing them about an 18-year-old girl one Anisha Velip, a resident of Khedem-Padi Cuncolim, who was brought dead in a case of suspected drowning.
Accordingly, a case of unnatural death was registered, inquest proceedings were conducted and the body was sent for preservation at TB Hospital, Margao.
During investigation, it was revealed that the water level in the stream was low where Anisha was reportedly found.
The investigation revealed the presence of her friend one Sarvesh near her house as corroborated by witnesses. Anisha’s mother had also seen him near the spot where Anisha was found.
During the search, Sarvesh was not found at his residence. Later, his body was found hanging from a tree near his residence at Cavrem-Quepem.
Hence, another case of unnatural death was registered at Quepem Police Station. Further investigation is on.
