An accident took place this evening on the Corjuém side after the Aldonã-Corjuém bridge involving a Tata Nano and a Duke bike, both heading towards Corjuém. The rider, a boy from Corjuém, and the pillion rider, a girl from Aldona, sustained serious injuries. They were first taken to District Hospital, Mapusa, and later shifted to GMC Bambolim in critical condition. Authorities and locals have appealed to all bike riders to wear helmets and exercise caution on the Aldonã-Corjuém route. The approach roads and bridge are prone to accidents due to blind curves, making speeding and overtaking extremely dangerous.
