VASCO: Two minors from Lamani Colony Zuarinagar died on the spot after a speeding car commuting from Verna towards Vasco reportedly hit both boys who were returning from their jog on the Highway near the BITS Pilani campus in Sancoale. The driver was arrested by the Verna police.
As per the information given by the Verna police two minor boys namely Darshan Lamani (14) and Anil Rathod (16) who had gone for their morning jog lost their, after an i 20 Hyundai car (KA 51 MM 1501) reportedly hit both the boys from the rear.
Sources further said that both the boys were neighbours and good friends and used to go jogging daily in the morning.
The accident took place at around 7.30 am near BITS Pilani highway. An offence has been registered against the car driver namely Guru Gugan (36) resident of Vellur Tamil Nadu for rash and negligent driving.
The bodies were sent for post mortem. The car has been attached and further investigation is ongoing sources said.
