PANJIM: The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) Goa unit participated in the national dharna against privatisation of public sector banks and other proposals of the Finance Ministry, here, on Friday.
The union leaders called on the public to support their fight and join them for the national protests planned on March 15 -16.
“If the government doesn’t listen to their demands, they will intensify their protest and make it a continuous strike,” they added.
While addressing the gathering, they demanded that the government drops the proposals recently announced by the Finance Minister and instead strengthen public sector banks. They also called for stronger action on the part of the government in recovering what they described as the ‘money of the public’, from criminal defaulters.
