MARGAO: United Goans Democratic Party (UGDP) President Dr Jorson Fernandes stated that the deafening silence from tongue-tied BJP over three linear projects is just a sheer manifestation of the raw power of the Goan youth and other groups who have stood solidly behind Goa.
The UGDP chief hailed the decision of the CEC while condemning the anti-Goan and anti-Goan unsustainability of three linear projects including double-tracking of the South Western Railway line, four-laning of a national highway and laying of a power transmission line by the Goa Tamnar Transmission Project Limited, and also urged to withdraw the cases filed against the activists in the wake of the CEC report.
He pointed out that the cases filed against the just and fair activists now need to be withdrawn in the wake of the CEC report because they have proved to be right and justified vis-a-vis the adamant State government’s arm-twisting techniques, for which the BJP needs to be condemned. BJP is now tongue-tied to find any defence for themselves and are found voiceless to speak against the CEC. The BJP government has been totally exposed.
He further said the tight-lipped BJP has no defence and stands exposed for their crony capitalist support in going ahead with these irrational, environmentally degrading projects reasoned out.
The logical and reasonable decision taken by the CEC to report to the Supreme Court exposed the manipulative and high handed BJP dispensation working at the behest of the crony capitalists and against Goa and the Goans and worse, it is against the very nature that supports life, stated Dr Jorson.
