PANJIM: The Crime Branch of the Goa police have arrested a 52-year-old British national for allegedly possessing drugs worth Rs 15 lakh in the international market.
According to the police, the accused, identified as John Parkinson, a resident of Camberwell, London, and presently residing at a house behind Lady of Miracle Church in Baddem, Anjuna, was caught-red handed after a raid was conducted by Police Inspector Narayan Chimulkar and his team on December 4. The man was apprehended near the back gate of the Vagator football ground, near Levels Club, Ozran, Vagator.
The accused was allegedly found in possession of 190 LSD perforated papers, weighing 1.914 grams, and 4.353 grams LSD liquid, all worth Rs 15 lakh approximately in the international market. The police also seized a motorcycle and two mobile phones.
A case under Section 22 (c) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDS) Act, 1985, has been registered at the Crime Branch Police Station at Ribandar and further investigation is under progress, police said.
